Creating an Independent Team
Requests for the creation of an Independent Team must come from an official email address within the County Board e.g. secretary.antrim@gaa.ie or something similar. Alternatively, it can come from the Province or National Level of the Association.
The request must be sent to the Foireann support team and include the following information:
1. The name of the Independent Team
2. The names of the parent clubs involved in the Independent Team.
3. The associations involved e.g. GAA, LGFA, Camogie.
4. The Foireann username of at least one admin from each parent club so they can be given the relevant access.
When the Foireann Support team receives this information, we can then create an Independent Team on Foireann.
Adding Players to an Independent Team
There are two ways to add members to an Independent Team on Foireann.
Option 1: Members add themselves
If your members have their own login to Foireann, they can simply add the relevant Independent/Amalgamated team to their profile. To do this, they will need to follow the steps outlined below:
1. Login to Foireann
2. Navigate to the profile section
3. Scroll down the profile to the 'My Club(s)' section, click 'Add Another Club'.
4. From the drop downs choose the relevant Association and County in which the Independent Team is located.
5. Use the club search to find the Independent Team.
Once the Independent Team is added to the member's profile, they will appear on the member list within the Independent Team and will be available for selection on the Independent Team sheets.
Option 2: Admins add Members
If you have members who do not have access to their own Foireann account, as an admin, you can add the Independent team to their profile on their behalf. An Admin simply has to follow the steps outlined below to do this:
1. Login to Foireann
2. Navigate to the membership section
3. Find the member in question and click on their name to open their profile.
Creating a Player Injury Fund (PIF) invoice for Independent Team
The PIF invoice must be created under the Independent team and not added to one of the parent club invoices on Foireann.
If the independent team was previously active, an invoice may be automatically generated for you to review and edit for the current season. However, if this is not the case, a club admin for the independent team can create a new invoice by following the steps outlined below:
1. Navigate to the Administration section.
2. Click on the GAA Player Injury Fund tab
3. Click 'Generate New Invoice'
4. Choose the relevant season from the dropdown and click 'Generate'
The new invoice will automatically tick the teams which were not previously covered for this season. |
5. If the independent team is new, you will not have any teams listed in your invoice for selection. Please either add these teams via the Teams & Groups section of Foireann (see HERE for more details) or us the 'Add Missing Teams' button within the invoice to quickly add the teams you need to cover under the Independent team.
