Tobar Certificates & Qualifications

Overview

Tobar is an online platform by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) that provides resources, courses, and learning tools for coaches, players, and officials involved in Gaelic games. It offers educational materials on skills development, coaching strategies, and the promotion of GAA values in communities.

All certificates, such as Safeguarding and Coaching, must be applied for and renewed through Tobar. If your Tobar and Foireann accounts are properly linked, your certificates will automatically transfer to your Foireann account.

Linking Tobar Account to Foireann (Over 18s)

Members can link their Tobar and Foireann accounts so that their certificates within Tobar are visible on their Foireann profile. 

NOTE: Please note that this linking is only from Tobar to Foireann and not Foireann to Tobar, therefore your vetting applications will not be listed on your Tobar account.

To link your Tobar and Foireann accounts, please follow the steps outlined in the following guide:

If you don't have the green 'Foireann Connect' button within your Tobar account, please contact [e-mail] for them to enable it for you.

If a member is over 18 but doesn't have their own Foireann account, then the club admin will need to invite the member to create a login for them to link their Tobar account to their Foireann Account. Club admins can follow the steps outlined in the link below to invite a member to create an account:

Linking a Minor's Tobar Account to Foireann

If a member is under the age of 18, they cannot link their Tobar account to their Foireann account. This is something which Foireann and Tobar are working on to find an appropriate solution.

Expiring Certificates

If you have an expiring certificate, please navigate to the Tobar system to renew your certificate by completing the relevant course.

If you are unsure how to do this or need some advice on the course you should be applying for, please contact [e-mail]. 

Once you have completed the relevant courses, and your Tobar / Foireann accounts are linked, the certificate will automatically pull through to your Foireann profile.

Adding / Missing Certificates on Foireann

If certificates are missing from your Foireann account, you will need to contact [e-mail]  to get the certificates added to your Tobar account. Once they are added to your Tobar account, and your Foireann account is successfully linked, the certificates will pull through to your Foireann profile.
