Newbie here
Hello, I am trying to register my children for football and I was redirected from Foireann.ie Could you please have the information posted on the main page as it doesn't look official? No business/ government information, legal stuff. I do understand that I am new, what's Zendesk doing here? Customer service? All I want is to register my children and pay. Also, I can't register my kids with information about Allergies etc, as the questions are for the owner who made the registration. Sorry, it doesn't make sense, I have to say all this to help others who are in my position.
My feedback is based on my UX background so I have some knowledge of how these should be.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Dragos

Hi Dragos. I am just a an admin in a GAA club (so I don't speak for anybody beyond my own club). Here's what I would advise.
Review the following:
- https://gmssupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/sections/360004917960-Club-Members
If having done that, it's still not clear, then contact the registrar, or another person involved, at your childrens' club. They should help. I know if it were my club then I could guide the parent through it step by step, and I'd expect other clubs are the same.
Foireann does take a little getting used-to for members or parents at the very beginning, so you are certainly not alone. But once over that, it's a very good system - especially so considering all of the differing situations it has to address.
Best Regards, and I hope your children get a lot from being involved.

Hello Niall, thank you for your response. I believe that platform needs legal information to sound legit and then a simple payment form to do it online. It might be a good platform but l become sceptical about no other information that will make the official register as these days is too much scam around us. That's the reason that made me to leave this feedback. Anyway until further improvements l will stick with cash. Once again thank you for getting back and maybe this post will help also others.

One more thing, because l still do some work as admin in my collaboration with other, the big issue that the platform has it, is the GDPR. There is no proof how information is handled. Is very important how sensitive information is stored and for how long. Now if the server is not on EU land, might be another story of high risk for irish people when their details are registered. I am not trying to look the smarty pants, :) but when is about legislation, including Cookie how are tracking users, is a big deal for GDPR. I hope this little comment will be useful for further improvements.

Hi Dragos.
It is sensible to be cautious about any website. However I want to assure you, and others reading here, that the platform accessible at www.foireann.ie does have legal information, and (if enabled by the club) has a simple payment form to register you or your children online (used to do so likely hundreds of thousands of times over the past few years).
The platform is certainly not perfect though, and your experience of it is an example. I myself open support tickets using the form at https://gmssupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new to address issues, including clarity for other users. In my experience, and despite a very large workload (especially at this time of year), the team answering does a very good job at prioritizing the handling of these requests. So I'd encourage you to open a support ticket on specific cases where you feel the platform could be improved.

Hi Dragos.
I see your comment about GDPR. My experience of Foireann is that it, and the team developing it, take GDPR compliance very seriously. Even though I'm very familiar with GDPR from my professional work, I have yet to notice a case where Foireann is not compliant to both the letter and the spirit of the regulation. And if I had noticed, then I would have opened a support ticket and I am certain it would be addressed as a matter of extremely high urgency. So if you notice such a case, please open a support ticket to get it addressed.
Regards,
Niall.0
