App- Foireann - how can you sort out an issue with a child set up with an account and userid.

Here's how I sort it in my club.

First of all it happens because the person who creates the account ticks a box to say they are over 18 when they are not.  Then they subsequently enters a DOB which indicates they are under 18.  I have even had cases where a parent creates an account for themselves and subsequently changes everything about it, including DOB, to represent one of their children.

I think the easiest change Foireann could make (i.e. without it being a lot of work) would be to prevent an under-18 DOB being entered in the profile of a Foireann account-holder - i.e. just as you suggest.

Anyway, I have done the following to resolve:

    1. I contact the parent/guardian, and ask them to create an account in their own name.
    2. With the parent's permission, manually add a new member in the same name as the child, with all of the same information in this second profile for the child as in the child's first profile.
    3. Then I create a family under the parent's profile.
    4. Then I add the second child profile to the parent's family.
    5. Then I merge the first and second child profiles, with the second child profile as PRIMARY.  Thus the first child profile is no more and the child's foireann account is disabled.

I suspect that if I had to do all of the above again with the present Foireann capabilities, then I might be able to skip creating a second profile and merge - i.e. simply move the child profile into the parent's family as a child.  Try that out, and if that does not work then the roundabout way I did it before should work.

    Regards,
    Niall.
