Offline membership / committee members registered manually but no payment has gone through

Hi all,

Really hope that someone can help with this query:

Back before registration was due at the end of March, I manually registered two committee members as if they had paid online. This is my first time as registrar and thought I would be able to click on their names and add my card as payment. It has not been as straightforward as this. I cannot revoke their membership at this point and their fees are still outstanding. Any help/guidance would be greatly appeciated as I have tried at least 3 times to contact the Foireann support desk and no one has replied.

    HI Louise.

    I'm assuming that when you registered them that they had specifically authorized you to do that on their behalf.

    I'm unsure why it is not possible to revoke the membership, as I am a registrar and it appears I could do so in that situation (at least I am presented with the option).  Perhaps it is because my club is a GAA club and your's might be a Camogie or LGFA club and there might be some difference.

    If it's just a matter of collecting the funds and you don't want to accept cash from them, and you specifically want it to be paid in via Foireann rather than they just transferring to the club account IBAN, I suppose you could get them to register a second time and pay this time of course, and then revoke the second registration without issuing a refund.  I'm just thinking out loud here as an admin of a GAA club myself - no guarantees even if your club is also a GAA club,and especially if not a GAA club.

    Thank you Niall for your reply. I am a LGFA registrar so the option to revoke membership might different between GAA & LGFA. I did think about transferring the funds using the IBAN of Stripe account but wanted to be sure first that there was no other way of doing it.
    Those two members did authorise me to process their applications, I just thought it would be easier to do.

    That's cool Louise - I know there are differences between for Foireann manages these things for the different the national sporting bodies.  I presume this will change in the future when the GAA/LGFA/Camogie are integrated.

    And I get it now - when you write that "their fees are still outstanding", you mean to the LGFA (that type of thing is done outside of Foireann for GAA).  I'm sorry - I don't know how to address that at all.

    Best of luck in your first year as registrar.  Foireann is a good system.  And it's good to use the discussion groups here 'cos I'm sure it's a small Foireann support team handling a large volume of support requests at times.

    Hopefully somebody from an LGFA club, who has encountered this before, could chime in here with advice? - the more we use these discussion groups to help each other the larger the ammount of material we can all search through for answers.
