Underage player transfer

Hi, 

does anyone know how you go about transferring a player from one club to another or is there a need for underage players (i.e) U12. also the club they are with are using clubforce. is there an option to transfer.

    Hi Jod.

    You don't say which sports body - i.e. GAA, LGFA, or Camogie Association, or whether you are asking about the transfer rules or just the mechanics of transferring in the IT systems.

    I am in a GAA club.  For GAA, if the player has never played u12 or above for the other club, then generally the player has not established a "First Club" by rule, but otherwise the player has established a "First Club".  Regardless of that, I would anyway contact the underage county secretary to ask since there are county by-laws and all that.

    Regarding the mechanics for a GAA transfer.  If a transfer is required and it is within the county, then each county has their own procedures - in our county there are questions to be answered in a paper form to be sent to the underage county secretary, and they contact the other club, etc..  If the transfer is inter-county, then the player (or parent/guardian on their behalf if the player is not an adult) applies for the transfer in Foireann, and there's a nice workflow in there where each party signs off until the transfer is completed.  How the player (or parent/guardian) gets access to their Foireann account when their club is using a 3rd party system I do not know since very fortunately all of the players which have inter-county transferred into our club in recent years appear to have been from clubs where the members interacted directly with Foireann rather than via a 3rd party system.

    Foireann is a designed-for-purpose system and there will be increasing reasons over time why, in my opinion anyway, every member (or their parent/guardian when underage) should have direct access to their Foireann profile with their own Foireann account.  How that works with 3rd party systems I don't know - though I am interested to know because our committee is constantly bombarded by communications from salespersons of those 3rd party systems and the sales-pitches make those 3rd party systems seem infinitely better than Foireann which has no salespeople on commission, which makes it difficult for club committee members to understand which is really better.
