Modify Playing/Non-Playing Status
During registration, it is important to accurately capture playing vs non-playing status of members. However, there can be quite a few registration options and members don't necessaraly pay a lot of attention to the playing/non-playing field when setting up accounts and families and when registering. So I would like to see a way for admins to be able to modify the playing/non-playing field to correct the record where individuals don't use it correctly.

Hi joeanthonydoyle. An absolutely fair request.
In the meantime, it may be useful (either to you or to others reading this who encounter the same problem) to share the experience in our club - as we had this problem a bit too.
As soon as it started happening, we removed the non-playing option for online child membership, and put up another "contact the club" membership option titled "Non-Playing Child Member". The plan was to temporarily re-add the option when they contacted the club. Other than me for my under-18 daughter, nobody ever contacted the club..... And I know from historical membership that we probably are only down about one member as a result of taking this approach. I accept that this may not be so workable in some other clubs - but it worked fine in ours.
In cases where adults picked the wrong option - a rare occurrence (because we don't have the playing/non-playing option for users, but rather a separate "Adult Non-Player" option) - I as admin had to revoke and re-register the member with the correct option.
Certainly your suggestion would make things easier.0 -
Is there anyway for a parent to easily change/modify the registration of a non-player to a player? Or does an Admin within the club have to do this?

Hi "M M". I'm just a regular club admin, but I'm sure I know the answer - i.e. the answer is "No - a club admin has to do it").

Many Thanks Niall for responding. Will get onto the club so they can change it. All the best. M

That's cool M M.
Depending on how your club admin prefers to do things, they might revoke the existing membership, issue you a refund, and ask you to re-register. Or they might just change it themselves. There's more ways than that too. Bottom line is that the club admin has to be involved for sure.0 -
Thanks Niall, good to know! Michaela
