Offline Payment of Membership
We are not collecting our membership using Foireann yet.
Before we consider changing over. Can anyone clarify the following for me.
We would regularly register Players before they pay a membership.
If a player is registered can they then use a Foireann Membership Plan to pay.
I can't see how this can be done.
Thanks

The player can register and pay. The will create a duplicate account for themselves. The register can merge the 2 names together then. However be careful as injury fund is linked to when they register.

Seamus. My understanding is that the GAA rule is that you can only indicate a player as registered after they have "fulfilled their Annual Subscription requirement". If a member (or their parent/guardian on their behalf) is unwilling to register before playing or training, I'd be extremely surprised if somebody else doing it for them would be, upon examination, considered a valid registration. Given the past culture of players (and often parents/guardians) leaving all admin to the club though, it is indeed a massive challenge to get all players registered before training or playing, with consequent implications for liability, insurance, and injury scheme. We open our 2023 membership on Foireann on Jan 1st - and it is still a painful challenge to get players to register before training.
