Adding Players to a Team
I'm trying to add a player born on 2/1/2009 to our U14 team but the system won't allow me.
I can add him to the U15 team .
Anyone else have any issue like this.
thanks

Hi Seamus.
So, is the following what you are experiencing:
- You select "ADD PLAYER".
- You are presented with a list of players to select from, and that list is filtered based on the player's current age with these filter symbols at the top.
- But somehow the player (who I am guessing is presently aged 12, and turning 13 later this year) is not in the list for you to select from?
You could clear those filters of course and find the player - but those filters should be working (they work for me).
If it were the other way around (i.e. not being able to add him to the u15 team) then of course he would not show in the list for u15 since he is not yet aged 13 and the "Age 12 filter" would not be there in that case.I'm just a registrar with another club, so I can't do much better than what I explain above.
Regards,
Niall.

hi there, when I create a team, lets say u15 for 2025 season, are all the players that foireann generate for me eligible to play u15 for 2025, as one player has a DOB 04/10/2009 and foireann is giving me this player for an u15 team in 2025

No. That one player was 15 at the beginning if the year and so is ineligible. When adding a large number of players to a team, I typically delete the age filters and instead enter the year of birth in the search box, eg 2010.

You'd wonder why foireann are giving you the option of these players and if clubs are just going by what foireann give for the specific team and not by year of birth

I agree it would be better if the age filter there was based on an age at end of year rather than age today. But it not much of an inconvenience since coaches should know their players anyway, they can see the DOBs on team sheets, and the searching by year of birth works fine.
I would guess that the Foireann development team would acknowledge that this is sub- optimal, but that the associations are likely making other Foireann work a higher priority.
