Nursery and PIF
Hi
Does nursery age group get classed under the Player Injury Fund. Previous administrator was not sure and I can't get an answer. The players are all registered etc but I just want to know if I put them down on the Injury Fund section before paying the fees due.
Thanks

I don't know if there is a lower age cutoff. But to give yourself the best chance you could create an u5 team, and include it in the PIF I suppose. It won't cost you anything anyway 'cos the underage cost for the PIF is capped at €1,200 per club (i.e. all teams after 6 teams are free).

We got this in an email from Dublin Board :
Nursery to be included as U6
Registration – all GAA teams within units must be registered
Each unit will receive an invoice email detailing their fees for the 2023 cover. Registration for the Fund will be via Foireann. Injury Fund invoices have been generated according to the teams that the unit assigned itself under Foireann, units need to log into Foireann and make any amendments if required, please refer to the following link for assistance Managing the Player Injury Fund on Foireann – Gaelic Athletic Association (zendesk.com) All amendments must be done via the administration tab \ Injury Fund tab \ edit and confirm button and not through the teams tab. It is the responsibility of all units to ensure that they have all GAA teams within their unit registered for Injury Fund cover. Units with nurseries, should have teams registered at U6 level. The team numbers registered for the Fund have seen a decrease in the last two years. The team numbers registered are used to look at the level of activity across the Association, as part of funding applications on behalf of units to Government, Sport Ireland etc, grants to units etc. Therefore, it is imperative that units correctly record the number of GAA teams for cover. As examples, If units have a Senior and Reserve team, that is 2 separate teams. If units have 6 U10 teams, those 6 teams should all be registered for cover.
