Transfer applications can be made online through the Player Transfer tab in a member’s profile on Foireann.

Benefits of using the system include:
Players can now begin the transfer process themselves
Quicker processing of applications
Less chance of incorrect information being submitted
Ability to check the status of applications
Easy access to transfer history

Different Application Types
Depending on the Association, there are several different Transfers, Sanctions and Permits that a player can apply for.

We have provided a brief overview of Handball Applications below. It’s worth noting that, depending on the Association and Application Type, the application process may vary slightly.
The table below outlines the different transfer types which are available within Handball.

Handball Rules
Approvals
For Inter-County and Intra-Provincial Transfers, applications shall be granted if there is no objection from the Club or County, the player is leaving within 10 days of the forwarding of the application to the County by the Central Council or Provincial Council, as appropriate.
Please note that the 10-day period starts once the application is processed by Handball, not when the player or club submits the application.
For all other applications, such as sanctions and permits, all parties must approve the
application before the GAA can grant it. There is no 10-day objection period.
Player Eligibility
For Inter-County and Intra-Provincial Transfers
- The Appeal period is three working days, and you need to be registered at least three
days before a game. - Your new Club will be responsible for updating your Foireann profile.
For Sanctions and Permits
- There is no Appeal period for these applications.
- Your new Club Secretary will inform you when you can start playing.
