This guide walks you through the first step of the competition creation wizard.

💡 Note: For Competition Management, you must be assigned a Competition Administrator for your County or Province.

1. Initial Competition Set-Up

• Is this a draft or a live competition?
• Choose:
  • Live - Competition is visible and active
  • Draft - Still in planning phase, not yet public

2. Competition Details

Fill out the following mandatory and optional fields:

Field	Mandatory/Optional	Details
Competition Name	Mandatory	Give your competition a clear name
Competition Administrator	Auto-Filled	The name of the admin creating the competition
Match Official Admin	Optional	An alternate person who oversees the management of referees for this competition
Sponsor	Optional	Enter a sponsor name
Sponsor Name Position	Optional	Choose position for sponsor name (e.g., before or after competition name)
Season	Auto-Filled	Defaulted to current year - adjust if needed
Rank	Optional	Assign a competition rank if applicable

3. Competition Format

Set the format and structure of the competition:

Competition Format	Mandatory	Select Format: League, Knockout, or League/Knockout
Competition Type	Mandatory	e.g., Club, County, Provincial
Competition Level	Mandatory	e.g., Senior, Intermediate, Junior
Age Level	Mandatory	e.g., U14, U16, Minor, Adult
Gender	Mandatory	e.g., Male / Female
Competition Discipline	Mandatory	e.g., Football, Hurling, Camogie
Category	Optional	e.g., League, Championship

4. Pools & Groups

Field	Details
Competition Group	Select from available groups
Match Official Pool	Assign a pool of referees
Venue Pool	Assign available venue locations

5. Fixture Options

Tick relevant boxes to assign specific roles and set up notifications:

Match Official Positions

• Set Referees

• Set Standby Referees

• Set Line Umpires

• Set Assessors

• Set Advisors

• Set Sideline Officials

• Set Goal Umpire

Notification Settings

• Notify Competition Admin

• Notify Match Official Admin

6. Next Step: Competition Format

Once all of the required fields are filled, move on to Step 2: Competition Format by clicking Next (top-right corner).
