Overview
This guide walks you through the second step of the competition creation wizard. This step allows you to define the league structure, points system, and table orderings of the competition you created in Competition Creation: Step 1 - Initial Options/Competition Details.
|
💡Note: For Competition Management, you need to be assigned a Competition Administrator for your County or Province. |
Table of Contents
Within the Competitions Details, there are 3 main sections which need to be completed:
1. League Format Set-Up
Fill out the following mandatory and optional fields:
| Field | Mandatory/Optional | Details |
| Number of Divisions | Mandatory | Enter how many divisions compete (e.g. 1 for single division) |
| Number of Legs | Mandatory | Enter the number of legs each team plays against the other (1 leg = once, 2 legs = home & away) |
| Hide For, Against, Points Diff | Optional | Tick if you want to hide these stats from public view |
Â
If you set up a competition as a 'League', then you will be asked to fill out how many knockout divisions there are.
2. League Table Options
Fill out the following mandatory and optional fields:
| Field | Mandatory/Optional | Details |
| Points for a Win | Mandatory | Enter how many points a team earns for a win |
| Points for a Draw | Mandatory | Points awarded for a draw |
| Points for a Loss | Mandatory | Usually, 0, unless awarding for participation |
| Points for a Walkover | Mandatory | Points given to the team awarded a walkover win |
| Points For and Against Display | Optional |
Choose how you want to display: ➤ Total Points ➤ GG-PP Selecting GG-PP means that Goals and Points will be displayed in the league table. |
Â
|
💡Note: The system has provided default values for each field, but you can adjust them based on specific competition rules. |
Â
3. League Orderings
This determines how the system ranks teams in the event of ties in points.
| Order | What It Means |
| 1st Order | Primary ranking metric (usually Total Points) |
| 2nd Order | Secondary tiebreaker (e.g. Head-to-Head for 2 teams only) |
| 3rd Order | Next level of sorting – often Score Difference |
| 4th Order | Final fallback – e.g., Goals/Points Scored |
Â
|
💡Note: The system has pre-filled these with standard defaults, but you're free to customise them to match the specific competition rule. |
Â
4. Next Step: Allocate Teams
Once all of the required fields are filled, move on to Step 3: Allocate Teams by clicking Next (top-right corner).
See: Competition Creation: Step 3 - Allocate Teams guide for instructions on completing step 3 of the competition wizard.
