Competition Creation: Step 3 - Allocate Teams

Overview

This guide walks you through the 3rd step of the competition creation wizard. This step is where you assign teams to the division(s) and leg(s) you've created in Competition Creation: Step 2 - Competition Format Set-Up

💡 Note: For Competition Management, you must be assigned a Competition Administrator for your County or Province.

1. Filter Your Club List

At the top of the screen, set your filters to narrow down the list of clubs, for example:

• Association: Select the relevant association (e.g, GAA)
• Type: Select the unit type (e.g, Club)
• Area/Board: Choose the region/board (e.g., Kerry).

💡 Note: The Area/Board will default to the unit in which you are logged in.

2. Select Clubs to Add

• On the left, you’ll see a list of available units.

• Click the plus icon (+) beside each unit you want to add to the competition.

  • Each click moves the unit to the Selected Clubs panel on the right.

⚠️ Warning: You must have at least one club selected to continue.

3. Review and Save Selected Clubs

In the Selected Clubs panel on the right:

• You’ll see details for each selected unit.

• Optionally, you can:

  • Assign a Team Name (e.g., "Team 1", "Team 2", etc., a way to denote a difference in team names whenever a club enters more than one team in the same competition, such as in underage blitzes).

  • Adjust the Display Name (e.g., Some clubs play under a different name depending on the competition, e.g. Killyclogher in Tyrone play under the name "Cappagh" in underage competitions - this will replace the official club name in fixtures)

💡 Note: Hover over the question marks (?) to get more information on the field

• To remove a club, click the minus icon (-) beside its name.

• Click the Next button at the top to save your selections. This ensures all chosen teams are officially part of the competition.

Click the Next button (top-right corner) to save your selections. This ensures all chosen teams are officially part of the competition. Then move on to Step 4: Create Fixtures
