1. Overview of Competition Permissions
There are three competition-related permissions available in Foireann:
Competition Administrator
Fixture Analyst
Match Official Administrator
Each role provides a different level of access to the Competitions section.
2. Permission Types Explained
Competition Administrator
Competition Administrator provides full access to the Competitions section in Foireann.
Users with this permission can:
Create new competitions
Edit existing competitions
Delete competitions
Manage pools, fixtures, and results
Fully administer competitions within their assigned unit (Club, County, or Province)

📝 Note: Competition Administrators do not need Club Admin permissions to manage competitions. |

Match Official Administrator
Match Official Administrator is used specifically for managing referee and match official assignments.
Users with this permission can:
Assign match officials to fixtures
Manage referee appointments within competitions
This role provides limited access compared to Competition Administrator and does not allow:
Creation or editing of competitions
Full management of fixtures, pools, or results

Fixture Analyst
Fixture Analyst is a read-only role designed for users who need visibility of competitions without the ability to make changes.
Users with this permission can:
View competitions, fixtures, and results
Access competition information for reporting or analysis
Monitor competition progress
Users with this role cannot:
Create, edit, or delete competitions
Modify fixtures, results, or pools
3. How to Assign Permissions

📝 Note: You need to be listed as a Club Admin for your unit, in order to edit another member's permissions. |
To assign a competition-related permission:
Navigate to Membership section
Search for the relevant member
Tick the checkbox beside their record, click member actions > update permissions.Â
If the member has more than one unit listed in their profile, choose the relevant unit from the dropdown.
Choose the appropriate competition permission(s)
Save your changes by clicking the Update Permissions.Â
Depending on the permission assigned, a icon may appear beside their name.
4. How to Remove Permissions
To remove a competition-related permission:
Navigate to Membership section and Search for the relevant member
Tick the checkbox beside their record, click member actions > update permissions.Â
If the member has more than one unit listed in their profile, choose the relevant unit from the dropdown.
Remove or deselect the permission(s)
5. Best Practice Guidance
Review competition permissions regularly at the start of each season
Only assign Competition Administrator access where full control is required
Use Fixture Analyst for reporting, media, or oversight roles
Assign Match Official Administrator access only to those responsible for referee appointments
