Competitions: Managing Match Official Pools

Overview

This guide outlines the steps Competition Administrators and Club Administrators can take to view, create, and edit Match Official Pools within the Competitions module.

1. View Pools

From the "Competitions > Pools" section, users can view a list of all Pools for either:

• Match Officials

• Venues

1. Go to the Pools tab.

2. Use the dropdown to select either:

• Match Official Pools or

• Venue Pool

3. The table will display existing pools with:

• Name

• Description

2. Creating a New Match Official Pool

You can create a new Pool for Match Officials by following the steps outlined below:

1. Navigate to Competitions > Pools

2. The Pools tab will default to display Match Officials; however, if you are looking to access the Venue Pools, you can use the dropdown.

3. Click the "Create Pool" button

4. Enter the Name (Required) and Description (Optional) for the pool

5. There are two tables:

• Left-Hand Side Table - Available Pool Members
  • Will list any member of Foireann who has been flagged as a Match Official
• Right-Hand Side Table - Current Pool Members
  • The members who are specifically listed under this pool
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save to finalise the creation

3. Adding/Removing Match Officials to a pool

Pools can be updated to change the name, description, or match officials.

Steps:

1. Navigate to Competitions > Pool

   

2. Click the name of the pool you want to edit or use the 3 dots and click 'Edit Pool'

   

3. You can:

   • Change the Name

   • Edit the Description

   • Add or remove members using the + or – buttons

   

⚠️ Note: Pools in use by an active competition cannot be deleted.

❗Troubleshooting

If a member does not appear as an option in the left-hand side table for selection:

• Confirm they are flagged as a Match Official (i.e., the whistle icon appears next to their name).

• If not, ask a Club Admin or County Admin to update their status as outlined above.

If a member is listed in the left-hand side table, but the + sign is greyed out, this means that the member is already listed as a Match Official in the pool.
